A new generation of the world's leading synthetic motor oil - Mobil 1 - is being introduced in Australia. Mobil 1 with SuperSyn anti-wear technology is the fifth-generation improvement of the world's leading synthetic motor oil.

"Mobil 1 with SuperSyn delivers unsurpassed engine-wear protection, all-temperature durability and promotes exceptional engine cleanliness. It is the best oil ever to wear the Mobil 1 name," said Greg Smith, Mobil Lubricants & Specialties Manager.

"This fifth generation of Mobil 1 combines high performance basestocks, the new SuperSyn anti-wear technology and a proprietary additive system to deliver the kind of engine wear protection that motorists demand today."

Technological advancements in automotive design mean that today's cars demand more from engine oil than ever before. Engines are designed to last longer than ever before and drivers expect more from their cars.

Mobil 1 with SuperSyn provides superior protection for both new engines and higher mileage vehicles operating under normal to even the most severe conditions. For example, the new oil formulation delivers faster lubrication at start ups in temperatures as cold as -50°C (-58°F), it can handle extremely high temperatures, up to 204°C (400°F), and operate in high-load conditions, such as hauling and towing.

The SuperSyn anti-wear system was developed in Formula One racing and has also proved itself in drag racing, protecting bearings and parts from the tremendous strains of super-charged engines. Now this system is being brought to passenger cars in the latest generation of Mobil 1. Whilst new SuperSyn has been proven in motor racing, where engines are subjected to extreme stresses, motorists are also able to benefit from its superior anti-wear properties and better engine protection in every day driving.

"New Mobil 1 with SuperSyn is not just an oil for performance cars, but a performance oil for all cars", said Smith.

Mobil 1 with SuperSyn exceeds the latest international lubricant standards set by vehicle manufacturers and the oil industry. Passing more engine builder tests than any other synthetic motor oil, this new formulation was introduced to the North America market in 2002 and is being introduced worldwide during 2003.

Mobil 1 with SuperSyn is available in a number of viscosity grades that are designed for specific engine applications. In Australia, these include 5W-50, 0W-40, 10W-30 and 15W-50. Each grade has been designed and developed to complement different vehicle requirements and different styles of driving.

New Mobil 1 with SuperSyn packaging prominently displays the viscosity grades and communicates their optimal application and benefits. Motorists should follow the recommendations found in the vehicle owner's manual.

Mobil 1 is factory fill in some of the world's finest luxury and high-performance automobiles including Mercedes-Benz AMG, Porsche, Aston Martin, Chevrolet Corvette, Cadillac XLR, Dodge Viper and HSV.

To support the launch of new Mobil 1 with SuperSyn, one lucky customer has the chance to win a custom made HSV ClubSport, and 30 runners-up will be given prizes of Holden Racing Team merchandise. The promotion will be run through Mobil service stations and participating retailers nationally.

Mobil, Mobil 1 and SuperSyn are trademarks of Exxon Mobil Corporation or one of its subsidiaries.
