Australia’s leading performance car manufacturer, HSV, today released details of a new limited edition model based off the luxurious Senator Signature.

To be known as “Senator SV”, this limited edition builds on an already impressive list of standard equipment that includes a 340kW, LS3 V8 engine, AP Racing forged 4-piston brake calipers, HSV Performance seats in Onyx leather trim, Magnetic Ride Control suspension and a raft of technologies like Enhanced Driver Interface (EDI) and a Driver Preference Dial.

The limited edition content starts with the fitment of the all-new, 20” SV Rapier forged alloy wheel, complete with its Dark Stainless finish. This light-weight, 5-spoke alloy, delivers a race-inspired edge to the exterior design, further exposing the massive brake discs and forged calipers.

Complementing the new wheel are a range of striking “pitch black” exterior styling accents. The grille surround, fender vents, mirror scalps, luxury lip spoiler and door surrounds all receive the unique finish as does the vehicle’s badging. Bold quad exhaust outlets, with shadow-chrome tips, complete the exterior styling make-over.

“We wanted to introduce styling enhancements that further accentuated the vehicle’s street presence and exclusivity”, said HSV’s Chief of Design & Styling, Julian Quincey. “We were keen to take Senator Signature’s “luxury/performance” positioning and deliver a darker, more brooding edge to its styling”, he said.

The vehicle’s exclusivity is further enhanced through the fitment of uniquely branded “Senator SV” sill plates, an I.D. plate and EDI start-up screen, while each vehicle will be individually numbered.

“As Senator Signature is already an exceptionally well equipped vehicle, we challenged our Design team to come up with a differentiated styling package, one that accentuates the vehicle’s “wolf in sheep’s clothing” positioning and further enhances its street presence”, said HSV’s Managing Director, Tim Jackson. “We haven’t released a limited edition Senator since 2008 so we’re sure the Senator SV will be well received by our fans.”

The Senator SV will be available with either a TR6060 6-speed manual transmission or the optional 6L80E 6-speed automatic with Active Select and Paddle-shifters

At A$83,990, Recommended Retail Pricing for the limited edition Senator SV remains unchanged from that of the Senator Signature, with the optional 6-speed automatic transmission to be available at no extra cost.

To be offered in four exterior colours - Heron, Phantom, Prussian Steel and Nitrate, build of the Senator SV will be restricted to just 50 vehicles (plus 2 for New Zealand), with production to commence in February.
