Australia’s leading performance car manufacturer, Holden Special Vehicles (HSV), has announced the re-introduction of its popular ClubSport and Maloo variants.

Launched in time to celebrate HSV’s 25th anniversary, these new models represent all that HSV is known for – performance, design, and technology – in a competitively priced packaged.

“We’re confident the return of both the ClubSport and Maloo to the range will enhance what is already an extremely competitive offer from HSV. We really like the way our MY12.5 range measures up in the market place,” said HSV’s General Manager of Sales, Darren Bowler.

“Excitingly, we’ve been able to bring these two attractively priced models into the range without compromising what HSV is known for – a great mix of performance, design, and technology,” added Bowler.

HSV ClubSport

Recently the ClubSport nameplate has only been available in its “R8” guise but as part of its MY12.5 range HSV is set to re-introduce ClubSport as its entry level model.

A quick review of its standard features reveals the new ClubSport is powered by HSV’s 6.2 litre, LS3, Generation 4 V8 which delivers 317kW of power and 550 Nm of torque, the ClubSport effectively includes all the major features of the outgoing MY12 ClubSport R8 model with the exception of HSV’s Enhanced Driver Interface (EDI), which will be available as a factory-fitted option.

The new ClubSport also picks up HSV’s 20” Pentagon alloy wheels to complement an already impressive list of standard features which includes Sport Touring Suspension, Electronic Stability Control with Competition Mode, 4-piston brake package, Satellite Navigation and Rear Park Assist with Reversing Camera.

HSV Maloo

Adopting a similar strategy to the return of the ClubSport nameplate, HSV is also re-introducing the Maloo to the HSV range.

Also powered by HSV’s 6.2 litre, LS3, Generation 4 V8 delivering 317kW of power and 550 Nm of torque, the new Maloo includes all the major features of the outgoing MY12 Maloo R8 model with the exception of EDI, and the remote locking hard tonneau and performance sailplane.

In place of the hard tonneau will be a versatile, soft tonneau cover. For those preferring HSV’s distinctive hard tonneau and performance sailplane, this can be optioned on the Maloo.

As with the ClubSport, the new Maloo picks up the larger, 20” Pentagon alloy wheels to complement its standard Sport Touring Suspension, 4-piston brake package, Performance seats in cloth with 4-way electric adjustment on the driver’s seat, Satellite Navigation and Rear Park Assist with Reversing Camera.
